John Makuch is a Partner in Moore Colson’s Restructuring and Dispute Advisory Practice Area. John has more than 30 years of experience assisting public and privately held companies in executing financial and operational improvement initiatives. He has served as an advisor to his clients and an interim officer, including Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Restructuring Officer.

John has assisted companies with business plan development, financial forecasting, liquidity management, recapitalizations, mergers and acquisitions, completion of SEC filing requirements, negotiations with creditors and other constituencies, cost rationalization, non-core asset dispositions and carve-out transactions, driving working capital improvements, and developing board reporting packages and KPI dashboards. His experience includes managing teams through significant periods of change, including recapitalizations and change of control transactions.

He has made presentations to and participated in hundreds of board meetings covering business performance, budgets and financial projections, strategic alternatives, corporate restructurings and M&A activity. John has worked closely with investment bankers, attorneys and other advisors preparing for and supporting debt restructurings and M&A transactions, including preparation of financial forecasts and marketing materials, participation in management meetings with prospective buyers, supporting due diligence and negotiating purchase agreements.

Before joining Moore Colson, John was a Managing Director in Alvarez & Marsal, LLC’s North American Commercial Restructuring practice.
