What began as a small business in the Southeast has become one of the largest independent accounting firms in the United States. Our organic growth throughout the past 40 years is a testament to our commitment to client success, embracing a forward-thinking approach that places us not just as advisors, but as dedicated partners.
The Beginning
Moore Colson opens with two professionals — Greg Colson and Jack Moore, one bookkeeper and one receptionist.
Expanding Services
After offering consulting and financial planning services for several years, Moore Colson branches out into quality of earnings work, which eventually led to the Transaction Advisory Practice.

Building Connections
Moore Colson joins the International Group of Accounting Firms, which provides independent firms with tools and resources to help them enhance their accounting, auditing, tax and advisory services. It became known as PrimeGlobal in 2012.
Industry Recognition
The firm earns the recognition of the Atlanta Business Chronicle and is named one of Atlanta’s Top 25 Accounting Firms for the first time.
Navigating Compliance
Moore Colson starts providing services tied to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, which evolved into today’s Risk Advisory Practice.

A New Era
After nearly 40 years of operation, Moore Colson relocates to Galleria 600, a modern office space with convenient access to the Cobb Galleria Convention Centre, The Battery and Truist Park.
Growing Influence
Moore Colson opens Magnolia Trust Company, a sister company providing independent trust administration services in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Celebrating 40 Years
Throughout the year, the “Thinking forward. Giving back.” campaign celebrates the firm’s 40th anniversary with service days that support local Atlanta communities.
Today
As of 2024, we’ve grown to have 30 partners and 185 employees. We are also ranked by the Atlanta Business Chronicle as a Top 20 Atlanta Accounting Firm and by INSIDE Public Accounting as a Top 120 CPA Firm.
