Atlanta CPA Firm Moore Colson Announces 2014 Peak Award Winners

Atlanta, Georgia (June, 2014) – Atlanta-based accounting firm, Moore Colson, recently announced the winners of the firm’s coveted Peak Award for the first trimester 2014. A first for the firm, there was a three way tie for the Peak which will be presented on a trimester basis going forward. The winners are Andrew L. Moore, Senior Tax Associate, Caroline Geiger, Business Assurance Associate, and Heather Crider, Administrative Assistant. The Moore Colson Peak Award is given to an individual based on significant contributions to the firm and work performed that is considered above and beyond expectations or something unique that an individual brought to the firm which has made a significant impact.

All three winners were nominated due to their superior work performance during busy season and for going above and beyond their normal responsibilities.

Andrew L. Moore, CPA – Senior Tax Associate, joined Moore Colson in 2013. In this role, Andrew is responsible for managing individual, corporate, fiduciary, and partnership tax compliance and recognizing and implementing tax saving strategies.

Prior to joining the firm, Andrew was a Tax Senior with Ross Lane & Company, LLC, Atlanta, Georgia. While with Ross Lane, Andrew provided a full range of tax, accounting, and business advisory services to individuals and closely held entities. Andrew also worked as a Senior Accountant with Daniel/Pappadakis & Associates, LLC, Atlanta, Georgia. Andrew is a graduate of Kennesaw State University, Kennesaw, Georgia with a Bachelor of Business Administration, Accounting, and a Minor in Business Law.

Caroline Geiger joined Moore Colson as a Business Assurance Associate in 2012. In this role, Caroline is responsible for planning and executing audits and reviews in accordance with GAAS and SSARS, preparing financial statements in accordance with GAAP, planning and executing audits of employee benefit plans, and documenting and testing internal accounting controls and control environments.

Prior to joining the firm in a full-time capacity, Caroline served as a Business Assurance intern with Moore Colson during the summer of 2011. Upon completion of her internship with the firm, Caroline returned to pursue a MAcc degree from the University of Georgia. She also earned a BBA in Accounting from the University of Georgia, and was an intern with a division of a major automotive parts company in their Heavy Vehicle Parts Group. She was a member of Beta Alpha Psi, Gamma Phi Beta Sorority, UGA’s Miracle Finance Committee, Dean's List, and the HOPE Scholarship.

Heather Crider is an administrative professional for Moore Colson. In this role, she is responsible for all firm client billing, accounts receivable, coordinating partner and CPE meetings, and assisting other team members with various daily tasks. Prior to joining the firm, Heather was an Office Manager/Administrative Assistant with D.C. Industrial before joining the Moore Colson team. In this role Heather provided support to the President and staff as well as assisted in a number of functions including billing, invoicing, accounts receivable and back up for accounts payable. Heather also worked in several capacities for Arthur Andersen, LLP. Heather has a B.S. Degree in Computer Information Systems from Mercer University.
