Moore Colson’s Women’s Initiative GROW™ to Sponsor Luncheon on How Women Network

October 31, 2019

Moore Colson, an award-winning accounting, consulting, and advisory firm in Atlanta, will host a luncheon on How Women Network on November 1, 2019.

The luncheon is being offered under the firm’s GROW™ women's initiative. Moore Colson’s GROW™, Growth | Resources | Opportunities for Women, was established in 2018 to provide women with a special platform to share ideas, uncover new insights, connect and GROW™ together. Through formal or informal events throughout the year, GROW™ brings fresh insights and perspectives on leadership, work-life balance, and career management and progression.

Elizabeth Miller, GROW™’s leader, is a Partner and the Corporate Accounting Practice Leader at Moore Colson. She is actively involved in shaping the program and has personally hosted and selected events where women can hear expert speakers and participate in informal workshops to promote team building and personal growth. Miller will be the moderator at the November 1st luncheon, which will feature four successful Atlanta businesswomen who will discuss the ins and outs of how women network. The panel discussion will provide insights into how men and women network differently and strategies on how to grow and maintain your network. The four panelists include:

Cherish De la Cruz, the founding partner of De la Cruz Law, LLC, established her firm in 2013 to help multigenerational families plan for their futures. As a mother of three young children and as the daughter of aging baby boomer parents, she is both personally and professionally fluent in the complexities that arise in ensuring that family members can thrive throughout the aging process.

Lisa Taranto Schiffer, a founding partner of The Horizon Group at Morgan Stanley, has spent nearly three decades in financial services providing comprehensive financial planning and wealth management. Lisa specializes in working with women who manage their family finances, small business owners, executives and medical professionals who value having an advisor to help them oversee all aspects of their financial lives.

Commissioner Dometrice "Dee" Clemmons of Henry County is the president and founder of DCL Solutions Group, LLC, a woman-owned company that provides community outreach, training, business development services and products supplier. Additionally, Clemmons founded the non-profit She STEAMS to fuel the economy by guiding the acceleration of women-owned businesses through mentoring, training, and networking opportunities while creating programs for young girls to have a variety of experiences in the disciplines of STEM/STEAM. Clemmons has provided many years of training, community engagement, project management and economic development experience throughout the state of Georgia, serving as a CEO, key project manager, community affairs liaison and consultant. In addition to serving in a variety of advisory roles, she’s the author of Influential Leadership: A guide to maximize your leadership ability.

June Carlson, senior vice president at Southern First Bank, has more than 32 years of banking experience in the Atlanta market. Her clients appreciate her enthusiasm in delivering prompt and creative value-added service. June has specialized in the affluent market working with individuals and professional service firms such as law firms. June is a member of the Board of Governors of the Buckhead Club in Atlanta and is a graduate of the 2013 class of Leadership Sandy Springs.

“We are thrilled to have these remarkable women come and share their insights with us,” noted Miller. “Through GROW™, Moore Colson has been able to provide a platform for women to grow together, and events like this are a fantastic opportunity to connect and learn from notable industry leaders.”
