Moore Colson, the number one ranked Best of the Best CPA and Advisory firm in the United States by Inside Public Accounting, and Seyfarth Shaw, the leader in delivering value and innovation for legal services, recently announced they will co-host a seminar discussing the new legislation imposing entity-level tax on partnerships.

Moore Colson and Seyfarth Shaw co-host Partnership SeminarThe Bipartisan Budget Act of 2015 goes into effect in 2018 and is set to overhaul how the IRS audits and collects tax from partnerships. The Act will allow the IRS to collect taxes associated with audit adjustments at the partnership level, rather than passing adjustments through to the individual partners. This new legislation effectively imposes entity-level tax on partnerships themselves and will vastly impact how partnership interests are valued, transferred and protected.

The seminar, Entity-Level Tax for Partnerships — Since When? Since Now!, takes place at Seyfarth’s Atlanta office on December 6, 2017, from 4-5:30 pm ET with a networking reception following thereafter. There is no cost to attend but seating is very limited; CPE credit will be provided and CLE credit is pending approval. The event will feature Seyfarth Partners Steven Meier and Jeffrey Cunningham, along with Partner Mike Pompilio and Tax Director Marcia Nally of Moore Colson CPAs and Advisors as presenters. They will discuss how IRS audits of partnerships are expected to increase tenfold, who will decide your fate in an IRS audit, and how firms should prepare to prevent arguments among partners.

“This timely seminar is a must attend for managing partners or anyone in charge of running a partnership or limited liability company taxed as a partnership,” said Moore Colson’s Tax Director Marcia Nally. “This new legislation is a game changer for partnerships and this session will give you the tools to start planning early and ensure your firm’s interests are protected.”
