Atlanta, Georgia (May, 2014) – Atlanta-based accounting firm, Moore Colson, recently announced the hiring of Michelle Brooks as a Senior Associate in the firm’s Corporate Accounting Practice. Moore Colson, founded in 1981, is a full-service accounting and consulting firm located in Atlanta, Georgia providing tax, assurance, management consulting, estate and financial planning, lender advisory services, IT audit consulting services, and corporate accounting services.
Prior to joining Moore Colson’s Corporate Accounting Practice, Michelle worked as a Senior Property Accountant with Cousins Properties, Inc. where she was responsible for financial statement presentation, month-end close and variance analysis for two office building properties, as well as special projects including audits. Michelle also provided start-up accounting for new office acquisition in the property management industry, and worked as the Controller for Newco Construction of America, Inc.
At Moore Colson, Michelle will be responsible for designing processes and internal controls around month-end close with various software packages. Michelle will train clients’ staff on daily accounting processes and streamline processes through technology. Michelle’s experience as a controller in the construction industry will allow her to assist construction clients with job schedules and overhead allocations. She will also compile financial statements for clients in various industries.
Michelle is a graduate of West Virginia University, with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Accounting, and serves as Foundation Treasurer for Rocky Mount Elementary School.
