Atlanta, Georgia (November, 2013) – Atlanta-based accounting firm, Moore Colson, recently announced the hiring of Lana Yelina – Business Assurance Senior Associate, Jackie Fitzgerald – Business Assurance Associate, Ada Ding – Business Assurance Associate, Scott Oliver – Tax Associate. Moore Colson, founded in 1981, is a full-service accounting and consulting firm located in Atlanta, Georgia providing tax, assurance, management consulting, estate and financial planning, lender advisory services, IT audit consulting services, and corporate accounting services.
Lana Yelina – Lana is a new Business Assurance Senior Associate and joins the firm after working with Habif, Arogeti & Wynne, LLP – Atlanta, Georgia where she was a Business Valuation Analyst. At Habif, Lana was responsible for Appraising businesses, fixed assets, business interests, and financial securities of companies valued up to $120 million, and specialized in the valuation of companies in the manufacturing, financial services, software/technology, and real estate industries. She also developed operational financial models to support merger and acquisition analyses, performed audit reviews – purchase price allocations and valuations of intangible assets. Lana was an Auditor for three years at Habif as well and assisted with the audits of financial statements for developmental to mid-size companies, worked with privately owned domestic and international companies in the manufacturing, distribution, financial services, software/technology, and real estate industries. Lana worked as an intern with SunTrust Bank, Fraud Loss Prevention Countermeasures, as a Fraud/Loss Prevention Risk Analyst.
Lana is a graduate of Georgia Southern University, Statesboro, Georgia with a Masters of Accounting, and a Minor in Fraud Examination. She also attended the Belarusian State College of Music and Art, Minsk, Belarus and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music. Lana holds Professional Licenses as a CPA, CVA (Certified Valuation Analyst), and CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner). She is a member of AICPA, NACVA (National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts), and ACFE (Association of Certified Fraud Examiners).
Jackie Fitzgerald – With over nine years management experience across hospitality, retail, and accounting services, Jackie Fitzgerald is a new Business Assurance Associate with the firm. Prior to joining Moore Colson, Jackie worked with Appalachian Associates, Ltd. / Appalachian Heritage Properties in Dahlonega, Georgia as Comptroller and CIS Manager where she was responsible for managing and evaluating cash flow needs and procedures, periodic operating and capital reports/budgets, and supervision of inter-company accounting/audits, property tax analysis, and billing analysis.
She is a graduate of Georgia State University, J. Mack Robinson College of Business Atlanta, Georgia with a Master of Science in Information Systems Audit and Control, and is currently pursuing CPA certification. Jackie also has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of North Georgia, Mike Cottrell School of Business Dahlonega, Georgia, and minors in Spanish and Computer Information Systems.
Jackie was a an administrative assistant for No One Alone (Domestic Violence Emergency Shelter), a student member of the AICPA, GSCPA, Institute of Internal Auditors, and the Information Systems Audit and Control Association while being actively involved with Beta Alpha Psi as a member and VP of Activities, Omicron Delta Kappa as a member and VP of Activities, and Sigma Delta Pi as a member.
Ada Ding – Ada joins Moore Colson’s Business Assurance Practice as an Associate after working with LYRASIS, Inc. Atlanta, Georgia as a Business Development Account Manager. In this position, Ada evaluated monthly financial reports with $50 million in revenue and $2 million in margin, and presented product performance to senior leadership team. She negotiated and managed over 50 professional publisher and vendor relationships, covering roughly 500 products, including Thomson-Reuters, LexisNexis, and McGraw-Hill, and independently added 20 new relationships and 100 new products which brought in $2.5 million new revenue; annually increased existing offers’ margin by 3% upon renegotiations. Ada also worked for Southeastern Louisiana University Hammond, Louisiana as a Web Site/Database Librarian, while conducting the University Library web site assessment project as the main researcher.
Ada is a graduate of Georgia State University, J. Mack Robinson College of Business, Atlanta, Georgia with a Master of Professional Accountancy and is a member of the GSU chapter of Beta Alpha Psi. Ada is CPA eligible and intends to sit for exam beginning in January 2014. Ada is also a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Chapel Hill, North Carolina with a Master of Science in Information Science, and the University of Georgia Athens, Georgia with a Master of Education. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Beijing Foreign Studies University Beijing, China.
Scott Oliver – Scott is a new Tax Associate with Moore Colson and a graduate of Kennesaw State University with a Master of Accounting, Tax, July 2013, and Auburn University, BSBA Accounting, May 2012. Prior to joining Moore Colson, Scott worked for Diaz Foods 2012 as an Accounts Receivable Clerk and also an Accounting Intern. A member of Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity, Scott served as their Housing and Social Chair, where he collected money for bills and rent, and organized / budgeted events. Scott has reached the 150 hour requirement for the CPA exam.
