Atlanta, Georgia (August, 2016) – Atlanta-based accounting firm, Moore Colson is pleased to announce the promotions of four firm professionals: Sydney Trew (Senior Tax Manager), Joe Coleman (Senior Tax Manager), Caroline Andrews (Business Assurance Manager), and Cristina Simpson (Business Assurance Manager). Sydney Trew, CPA – Senior Tax Manager focuses on tax compliance and planning for the firm’s closely-held businesses and their owners.  Her responsibilities include the coordination of tax services for clients, planning and organizing engagements, suggesting and implementing tax planning ideas, and supervising staff. Sydney joined Moore Colson as an intern 2008.

Sydney’s professional background in public accounting includes serving clients in the construction, real estate, professional services, restaurant and manufacturing industries.  She also has extensive experience in the implementation of successful tax and succession planning strategies for closely-held businesses, as well as estate and financial planning for high net-worth individuals. She is a graduate of Samford University with a Masters of Accounting, 2010 and a B.B.A., Accounting with an emphasis in International Business, 2008.

Joe Coleman, CPA – Senior Tax Manager provides tax compliance and planning services for Moore Colson’s closely-held business clients and their owners in the real estate, manufacturing and distribution, professional services, and technology industries.  Joe has extensive experience in preparing corporate consolidated tax returns for companies with revenues of a billion dollars, developing tax planning strategies, preparing complex federal and multi-state tax returns for various entity types, and maintaining and developing client relationships. Joe joined Moore Colson after working with Moore Stephens Tiller, Atlanta, as a Tax Manager. He received a Master of Accounting from Kennesaw State University in July 2011, and also a B.B.A., Accounting from Kennesaw State University in May 2007.

Caroline Andrews, CPA – Business Assurance Manager, has responsibilities for financial statement audits, SOX and compliance engagements, and 401(k) employee benefit plans at Moore Colson. Over the past several years, Caroline has gained experience in several different industries, having worked on manufacturing, distribution and service companies, real estate partnerships, and commercial properties.

Prior to joining the firm in 2012, Caroline was an audit intern with Moore Colson during the summer of 2011. She is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a B.B.A., Accounting, 2012, and also received a MAcc in 2012.

Cristina Simpson, CPA, CFE – Business Assurance Manager joined Moore Colson in 2014 as a Business Assurance Senior Associate. At Moore Colson, Cristina is responsible for the day-to-day project management, audit execution, and quality assurance of multiple engagements. Cristina primarily leads audit and assurance engagements within the real estate, manufacturing, and distribution industries.

Previously, Cristina worked for CohnReznick, Atlanta, where she was responsible for managing over 70 project engagements while performing all aspects of annual audits including determining audit and fraud risks, calculating materiality, planning and performing audit procedures, and drafting financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

Cristina is a 2009 graduate of the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa with a B.B.A. in Accounting, and was a member of the Dean’s List.
