Moore Colson, the number one ranked Best of the Best CPA and Advisory firm in the United States by Inside Public Accounting, announced Partners Christopher Tierney and Steve LaMontagne will be speaking at the Accounting & Finance Show on July 11-12 at the Javits Center in New York, NY.
The Accounting & Finance Show is expected to draw over 2,000 attendees in the accounting and advisory industry, in addition to business owners, to discuss changes that are sweeping the profession. The conference offers over 100 hours of CPE credit and features six distinct tracks: technology, bookkeeping and payroll, finance, tax, wealth management, and practice management.
Tierney will be the featured speaker for the session titled Forensic Accountancy for Risk Management under the Wealth Management track on July 11 at 4:30 p.m. and will be a panelist on the Uncovering Illicit Financial Activity session on July 12 at 11 a.m. Tierney has over 30 years of experience in providing financial, operational and strategic management and advice to domestic and international companies and their stakeholders. He has extensive experience providing litigation support services, implementing fraud and forensic investigations as well as providing expert and consulting witness testimony on a broad range of topics. Tierney, who is frequently appointed by State and Federal courts as a Trustee, Receiver, and Examiner, is a Registered Neutral with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution providing mediation and arbitration services on civil matters for companies and individuals. A Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP) and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Tierney has a Bachelor of Art from Colby College and an MBA from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business. Tierney has been a featured speaker, author and quoted expert for many organizations, including the Association for Corporate Growth, American Bankruptcy Institute, Georgia Bar Association, National Association of Credit Managers, Turnaround Management Association, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Atlanta Business Chronicle, and Fox News.
LaMontagne will be a featured speaker for the session titled New Lease Accounting Standards on July 12 at 12 p.m. The session will provide a high-level overview of the new lease accounting standard and discuss key considerations for its successful adoption based on a sample implementation plan. LaMontagne, CPA, leads Moore Colson’s Real Estate Practice and has over 30 years of experience in all sectors of the real estate, construction and hospitality industries, including fund managers and advisors, registered investment advisors (RIAs), REITs, developers, institutional investment vehicles, operating properties, and syndication of private and public partnerships. Prior to joining the firm, he was an Audit Partner and Leader of the Southeast Real Estate Practice with KPMG. LaMontagne has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a minor in Finance from Florida State University and is a member of the National Association of Certified Public Accountants, the Georgia Society of CPAs, the National Council of Real Estate Investment Fiduciaries (NCREIF), the Pension Real Estate Association (PREA), the National Association of Real Estate Companies (NAREC), and the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT).
