Moore Colson, the 2017 #1 ranked CPA and advisory firm in the U.S., recently announced it won the Large Firms category in the fifth annual Georgia Accounting Food Fight. The two-week competition, organized by The Georgia Society of CPAs (GSCPA) and the Georgia Food Bank Association (GFBA), brings together accounting professionals from all across Georgia with the goal of raising food and funds for the state’s nine regional food banks. According to GSCPA and GFBA, the Georgia Accounting Food Fight has raised a record-breaking $143,371 and the equivalent to 575,945 meals for the Food Bank in 2018, which represents a 38 percent increase over last year’s results.

According to the Atlanta Community Food Bank (ACFB), competitors included 40 teams from 30 accounting firms and industry accounting departments representing over 4,379 employees. Teams earned points for raising funds, collecting food, and volunteering. Awards were presented in several categories, including Sole Proprietor, Big Four, Large Firm, Medium Firm, Small Firm, Food Fight Hero, and Industry.

Moore Colson raised 218 pounds of food and $14,500.00, the equivalent of 58,182 meals for ACFB, ranking Moore Colson number one in Georgia in the Large Firms category for Points Per Employee, number one in Georgia in the Large Firms category for Total Points, and number one of all the teams in its region for Total Points. This is the firm’s fourth win in the Large Firms category for Points Per Employee and its first win in the Large Firms category for Total Points.

“I’m really proud of our industry for rising to the occasion and making the 2018 Georgia Accounting Food Fight the best ever,” noted Moore Colson Partner and Atlanta Community Food Bank Board Member Todd McMullen. “For Moore Colson, this was a very special event. We surpassed our fundraising goal by raising $14,500, the most we’ve ever raised for the Food Fight. This year’s campaign was another example of Moore Colson coming together and rallying for a cause in which we truly believe. We appreciate the Georgia Society of CPAs and the Atlanta Community Bank for their support and for their tireless efforts in coordinating this worthy campaign.”
