Rusty Lane, Director at Moore Colson, an award-winning accounting, consulting and advisory firm, has recently been appointed by The Georgia Society of CPAs (GSCPA) to serve on the prestigious 2017-2018 Fraud and Forensic Services Advisory Council.

The mission of Fraud and Forensic Services Advisory Council is to make the membership aware of important issues pertaining to fraud and forensic services, advise and develop thought leadership for the membership, while maintaining focus on providing information that benefits its members on a statewide basis. Council members are selected based on the level of expertise within their field and must be a fellow member in good standing with the Society.

Lane, a CPA and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), has over 22 years of experience in accounting, business operations, tax compliance and litigation support in the public accounting and private sectors. Lane has Big 4 experience providing financial advisory services, forensic accounting, fraud investigations and activity-based costing models to Fortune 500 clients and government agencies. Lane conducts financial statement fraud investigations and provides expert witness reports and testimony in litigation cases involving disputes between shareholders, financial institutions, and stockholders. Additionally, Lane develops forecast, budgets, cash flows and business plans for clients, creditors and other stakeholders while designing internal controls procedures for operations and accounting units to safeguard assets and assist in the management of the company. Lane has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Birmingham Southern College and an MBA from the University of Alabama.
